Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (California) Upgrades to INFINITT PACS

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC) is a toprated, acute-care facility located in Los Angeles, California.
In 2009, HPMC selected the INFINITT PACS to replace its legacy image and information management system and INFINITT's Replacement & Data Migration Services to consolidate image data from two previous systems into a single image archive. The new system is scheduled to go live by summer 2010.
HPMC has distinguished itself as a leading health care provider, offering comprehensive services from emergency care, orthopedic surgery and cancer care to highly-specialized fetal surgery and comprehensive cardiac care. They have been recognized with awards for excellence in general surgery, stroke care, pulmonary care, treatment of heart attack, and numerous other clinical specialties. The radiology department currently averages about 100,000 imaging studies per ye ar.
As an early adopter of PACS still working with thick-client technology, Rebecca Hatcher, CRT, ARRT, Director of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Oncology, told INFINITT that HPMC radiologists and staff are pleased to be moving to INFINITT’s web-based platform which will enable physicians and staff to view imaging studies from their homes and offic es.
“The radiologists were impressed with the system’s versatility. They liked the speed of the system, its easeof-use and the customizable hanging protocols,” said Rebecca Hatcher. “And if the radiologists are happy, I’m happy.”
Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center is owned and operated by CHA Health Systems, which also owns and operates four acute care hospitals, two specialty clinics, a medical university and a cell and gene
